Mussoorie is a hill station and a municipal board in the Dehradun District of the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is about 35 kilometres (22 mi) from the state capital of Dehradun and 290 km (180 mi) north of the national capital of New Delhi. This hill station is in the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayan range. The adjoining town of Landour, which includes a military cantonment, is considered part of ‘greater Mussoorie’, as are the townships of Barlowganj and Jharipani.

1. Kempty Falls :
The Kempty Falls are situated on the hilly tracks of Uttarakhand, India, 13 km from Mussoorie on the Chakrata Road. It is nearly 1364 meters above sea level, at 78°-02’East longitude and 30° -29’North latitude. The Kempty Falls, and the area around is surrounded by high mountain ranges at an altitude of 4500 feet.
2. Lal Tibba :
Lal Tibba is the highest peak’s topmost point and most famous place in Mussoorie. … Located at the Landour area in Depot Hill, Lal Tibba provides a mesmerising views of Himalayan mountain peaks. …Lal Tibba of Mussoorie is located at 4.5 kms from Mussoorie city at Landour Rd.
3. Happy Valley :
Happy Valley is famous for housing IAS Academy, Tibetan temples and the Municipal Garden. The area of the valley lies on the western side of Library Point and leads to the Cloud’s End, a place where geographical borders of Mussoorie end. The place is also famous for its gardens, estates and temples. Apart from this, tourists can also take walk to the Kala School from Happy Valley, which leads to Hathipaon Park Estate.
4. Camel’s Back Road :
The road takes its name from the rock which is shaped like a camel’s hump on its back and stretches around a distance of about 3-4 kilometres from Kulri bazaar to the Library Chowk in Mussoorie. The road is ideal for a walk as one can get amazing views of the valley and the mountains from here. The place is great for the photographers who are looking for great shots to capture of the valley and the mountains that surround Mussoorie.
5. Gun Hill Point :
Gun Hill is one of the popular tourist attractions of Mussoorie, possessing historical significance dating back to pre-independence. It is believed that a canon was fired from the place at a fixed time on every afternoon. This firing at the hill provided an idea of time to the local residents of the destination and they adjusted their watches accordingly.
6. Mussoorie Lake :
Located at 6 kilometres on the Mussoorie-Dehradun road, the lake was recently developed as a picnic spot by the city board and the Mussoorie Dehradun Development authority. A nice small lake, which is created by a natural waterfall, while going down from road to lake in the way very good small waterfall is there , you can see duck swimming in lake, you can ride a paddle boat here as well and enjoy the amazing surroundings.
7. Christ Church :
Christ church was built in 1836 and is considered to be the oldest churches in the Himalayan ranges by the British during the British colonization in India. Possessing Gothic design and architectural styles, the stained glass windows in the Church represent the events in the life of Jesus Christ.
8. Sir George Everest’s House :
Built in the year 1832, the house belonged to the famous surveyor and geographer, Sir George Everest, after whom the world’s highest peak is named. He stayed in Mussoorie for around a good 30 years and the house showcases some interesting facts about the famous personality.
9. Jwalaji Temple :
The temple is located at a distance of around 9 kilometres west from Mussoorie atop Benog hill at an altitude of 2,240 meters above sea level. The place enshrines a centuries old idol of the Hindu deity Goddess Durga, the manifestation of supreme beauty and deadly power in the Hindu mythology.
10. The Mall Road :
Also famously known as the Mall road, it is a total shopper’s delight with everything in the same location. The Mall is like the lifeline of Mussoorie with almost everything located on this very stretch. Be it attractions, hotels, restaurants, shops – The Mall houses them all.
