Visakhapatnam is a port city and industrial center in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, on the Bay of Bengal. It’s known for its many beaches, including Ramakrishna Beach, home to a preserved submarine at the Kursura Submarine Museum. Nearby are the elaborate Kali Temple and the Visakha Museum, an old Dutch bungalow housing local maritime and historical exhibits.

1. Borra Caves :
The Borra Caves, also called Borra Guhalu are located on the East Coast of India, in the Ananthagiri hills of the Araku Valley (with hill ranges’ elevation varying from 800 to 1,300 m [2,600 to 4,300 ft]) of the Visakhapatnam district in Andhra Pradesh. The caves, one of the largest in the country, at an elevation of about 705 m (2,313 ft), distinctly exhibit a variety of speleothems ranging in size and irregularly shaped stalactites and stalagmites. The caves are basically karstic limestone structures extending to a depth of 80 m (260 ft), and are considered the deepest caves in India.

2. Kailasagiri :
Kailasagiri is a hill top park in the city of Vishakhapatnam. The hill is at 360 feet and it overlooks beaches, forests & the city of Vishakhapatnam. It is one of the best tourist spots in the city for a bird’s eye view of the bay. The Kailasagiri Park is well known for its panoramic view, peaceful atmosphere and its scenic beauty, making it a beautiful tourist attraction in Vishakhapatnam. The place offers plenty of leisure activities which is also one of the reasons for people visiting the place.

3. Araku Valley :
Araku Valley is a hill station and valley region in the southeastern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It’s surrounded by the thick forests of the Eastern Ghats mountain range. The Tribal Museum is dedicated to the area’s numerous indigenous tribes, known for their traditional Dhimsa dance, and showcases traditional handicrafts.

4. Yarada Beach :
Yarada Beach is surrounded by hills from three sides and Bay of Bengal on the fourth side. Located in close vicinity of the destination, the beach is dotted with lush green surroundings and soft golden sands. The beach is an ideal tourist spot for nature lovers as they can capture beautiful views of sunrise and sunsets on this huge coastline.

5. Submarine Museum :
Submarine Museum, also known as Smritika, is situated near the beautiful location namely, the Ramakrishna Beach. Earlier the museum was an INS Kursura, a Russian built submarine; however in 2001 it was converted into a Submarine Museum. Being one of its own kinds in entire Asian continent, the Submarine Museum attracts many tourists.

6. Ramakrishna Mission Beach :
The Rama Krishna Mission Beach is one of the most popular beach parks in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. It gets its name from the Ramakrishna Mission ashrama across the Beach Road from the park. The Rama Krishna Beach, or RK Beach as it is commonly called, is one of the best known beaches and tourist spots in Vizag, attracting a large number of visitors.

7. Indira Gandhi Zoological Park :
Indira Gandhi Zoological Park is located amidst Kambalakonda Reserve Forest in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is the third largest zoo in the country. The zoological park is named after the former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi.

8. Rishikonda Beach :
The Rishikonda Beach is a stunning beach with pristine waters that is located on the coast of the Bay of Bengal in Vishakhapatnam, in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. APTDC, which is in charge of this natural beauty, has done a great job in looking after the beach and ensured that this natural attraction remains unharmed.

9. Simhachalan Temple :
Situated in the city of Vishakhapatnam, the Simhachalam temple is an ornate shrine which is revered to be one of the most important temples in the region. The edifice is perched atop a hill 800 metres above the sea level and is dedicated to Lord Narasimha, who is an incarnation of Vishnu himself. Simhachalam Temple is embellished with extremely detailed stone carvings and design and can be spotted from a distance.

10. Kambalakonda Wildlife Sanctuary :
Kambalakonda Wildlife Sanctuary has a wide variety of flora and fauna in their natural habitat. Spread across an area of around 71 square kilometres, it is covered with dry evergreen forest mixed with shrubs and meadows. At present, the forest is under the control of Andhra Pradesh Forest Department, however till 1970, the land belonged to Maharajah of Vizianagaram.
