Mount Abu is a hill station in western India’s Rajasthan state, near the Gujarat border. Set on a high rocky plateau in the Aravalli Range and surrounded by forest, it offers a relatively cool climate and views over the arid plains below. Description:
1. Dilwara Jain Temples :
The Dilwara Temples are one of the most popular tourist attractions in Rajasthan. They are located around 2½ kms from Mount Abu, which is only hill station in the state. Built in the period between 11th and 13th century AD, the Dilwara are a great specimen of the grand architecture and beautiful carvings. In addition to being a tourist spot, the place is also a well known pilgrimage spot.
2. Guru Shikhar :
Guru Shikhar is the highest peak of the Aravalli Range and lies about 15 kilometres from Mount Abu. The height of the peak is 1722 meters from sea level thereby promising a breathtaking view of the Aravalli range and the hill station of Mount Abu.
3. Nakki Lake :
Situated in the Aravalli ranges in Mount Abu, Nakki Lake, locally known as the Nakki Jheel is a paradise for nature lovers. Flanked by amazing natural wonders, this lake is truly a gem of Mount Abu. It is the first man-made lake in India with a depth of around 11,000 metres and a width of a quarter of a mile. Located in the centre of the hill station, the fascinating lake is surrounded by lush greenery, mountains and strangely shaped rocks.
4. Sunset Point :
Sunset Point, a mesmerizing viewpoint near Nakki Lake in Mount Abu has all the pleasures of the world packed and delivered to your heart. The place offers unprecedented views of the gorgeous hills, kissed with the radiating rays of the sun. 5. Achalgarh Fort :
Situated at a distance of 11 km from Mount Abu, Achalagarh Fort was built under the reign of the Paramara dynasty. Later it was renovated by Maharana Kumbha in 1452 CE. The fort was made with the purpose to keep an eye on enemy movements.
6. Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary :
The Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the oldest parts of the Mount Abu mountain ranges. The Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary is home to many sightseeing points offering fantastic views. Many people visit the Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary just for the sightseeing and views, but most visit The Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary for the animals and birds. The Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary is about 7 kilometres long and only 300 metres wide.
7. Toad Rock :
Toad Rock is situated to the south of Nakki Lake in Mount Abu and comprises of a huge rock that looks like a toad about to jump into the water. This rock structure provides a great view of the lake and the surrounding greenery.
8. Peace Park :
Peace Park in Mount Abu is a part of the Brahma Kumaris spiritual establishment. The park is a perfect escapade from a hectic city life to find serenity. You will experience serenity and peace at this beautiful park.
9. Trevor’s Tank :
