1. Muzhappilangad Drive-in Beach :
Muzhappilangad Drive-in Beach is a beach in the state of Kerala in southwestern India. It is located parallel to National Highway 66 between Thalassery and Kannur. This beach is the longest Drive-In Beach in Asia and is featured among the top 6 best beaches for driving in the world in BBC article for Autos. Muzhappilangad is the only Asian beach featured in the list. It is considered as the longest drive-in beach in Asia.
2. St. Angelo Fort :
St. Angelo Fort is a fort facing the Arabian Sea, situated 3 km from Kannur, a city in Kerala state, south India. St. Angelo’s Fort was built in 1505 by Dom Francisco de Almeida, the first Portuguese Viceroy of India on the Arabian sea coast about 2 km from Kannur town. It was attacked in vain by the local Indian ruler Zamorin and kolathiri in the Siege of Cannanore (1507).
3. Payyambalam Beach :
The Payyambalam Beach is an impeccably maintained destination in Kannur. Palakkayam Thattu is a hill station near Naduvil Village in the Western Ghats in India.It is in Kerala state and in kannur district. Taliparamba-Palakkayam Thattu road distance is 28 km. The beauty of ‘Palakkayam Thattu’ became popular, after the District Tourism Promotion Council initiated effective steps to boost the tourists projects in the place. Located 3500 ft above sea level, it is undoubtedly one of the picturesque places in Kerala. A distance of 53 km from Kannur, the journey through the hill and scenic valleys will be a thrilling and exciting one.
5. Parassinikkadavu Snake Park :
Parassinkkadavu Snake Park is located in Anthoor Municipality about 16 kilometres from Kannur Corporation in the Kannur district of north Kerala, in south India. The park houses a variety of snakes and other small animals, including the Spectacled Cobra, King Cobra, Russell’s viper, Krait and various pit vipers. There is also a large collection of non-venomous snakes including pythons.
6. Arakkal Museum :
The Arrakkal Museum is a museum dedicated to the Arakkal family, the only Muslim royal family in Kerala, India. The museum is actually a section of the Arakkalkettu (Arakkal Royal Palace). The durbar hall section of the palace has been converted into a museum by the Government of Kerala.
7. Vismaya Water Park :
Vismaya is an amusement water theme park situated near Taliparamba in Kannur, Kerala. The park is developed and run by Malabar Tourism Development Co-operative Limited. It is situated near to the famous Muthappan temple in Parassinikadavu.
8. Aralam wildlife sanctuary :
Spread over a 55 sq. km area of forests on the Western Ghats, the Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary is among the finest of its kind in Kerala. It plays host to an exotic array of flora and fauna and is among the most picturesque locations in Kannur district.
9. Parassinikadavu Sree Muthappan Temple :
Parassinikadavu Muthappan temple is a temple, located at Anthoor Municipality on the banks of the Valapattanam river about 10 km from Taliparamba and 16 km from Kannur City in Kannur District, Kerala. Principal deity of the temple is Sree Muthappan, a manifestation of two mythical characters called Thiruvappana and Vellattam.
10. Choottad Beach & V-Pra Kaayal Floating Park :
Place is a very quite , surrounded at the foot hills of ezhImala, beautiful landscape. DTPC have transformed the beach to tourist destination. Have boating, pedal boats,through back waters. best time to visit evening after 4pm.
The V-Pra Kaayal Floating Park is a recently constructed park on top of the Chemballikundu River or the Vayalapra kaayal. It is a one of the best place to spend a day with your family, kids and children. The V-Pra Floating Park is located in Vayalapra Parappu, Chemballikundu, Cheruthazham Panchayath, Payangadi, Kannur.
