Day 1:
1: Honey bee tree on the way to top station: This is one the way to top station. There is one huge tree having a lot of honey bee hives on that tree. it’s is worth spending sone time there.
2: Carmelagiri Elephant Park: This is a private park on the way to top station. You can enjoy here an elephant safari/ride for a 10-15 min minute (charges: 500). The guides there, also show you how they train elephant.

3: Carmelagiri Botanical Gardens: This is 8 km from Munnar. They have variety of plants in this garden. Also, you can buy spices and hot chocolate there.

4: Mattupetty Dam: Beautiful place amidst tea plantation and forest area. You have boating options also there. Famous for wild elephants on the way, if you are lucky to spot them. Amazing place for photography.

5: Film Shooting Point, Munnar: Few shots of Many films, including chennai express were taken here.

6: Echo Point, Munnar: A very scenic spot near lake/reservoir. Although it is know to have echo phenomenon, but we didn’t observe that. Just sit and relax for sometime there, you will enjoy.

7: Setuparvatipuram Dam (Kundala Dam):
Setuparvatipuram Dam is also called the Kundala Dam. It is approximately 20 kms from Munnar. You can enjoy boating, a walk or horse-ride. The view is amazing with lush eucalyptus plantation around.

8: Top Station, Munnar: Wow, what a panoramic view of whole western ghat you get from top station. Best experience of visiting Munnar.

Day 2:

9: Chokramudi peak trekking: Best place to have a panasonic view if munnar city.

10: Lockhart Tea Museum, Devikulam: If you are in Munnar, you must know how tea leaves are processed and what are those various types of tea.

1: Blossom Park | 3 Km from Munanar
2: Attukad Waterfalls | Pallivasal Road | 9 km from Mummar

Kodagu, also known as Coorg, is a rural district in the southwest Indian state of Karnataka. In the area’s north, Madikeri Fort has 2 life-size elephant statues at its entrance, plus a Gothic-style church with a museum on its grounds. Nearby, the Hindu Omkareshwara Temple dates back to the 19th century. Farther north are the domed Raja’s Tomb, a burial place of Kodava kings, and cascading Abbi Falls.

Description:

1. Abbey Falls :
Abbey Falls is in Kodagu, in the Western Ghats in Karnataka. It is located 8 km from the Madikeri, 122 km from Mysore, 144 km from Mangalore and 268 km from Bangalore. The river is part of the early reaches of the river Kaveri. Flow is much higher during the monsoon season.

2. Namdroling Monastery ( Golden Temple ) :
Namdroling Monastery, situated at a distance of 60 km from the Kaveri Nisargadhama, is the largest teaching centre of the school of Tibetan Buddhism known as Nyingmapa. Thegchog Namdrol Shedrub Daryeling is the full name of the Namdroling Monastery. It is spread over an area of 80 square feet and was built from Bamboo which was donated by the Indian Government to the Tibetans in exile.

3. Dubare Elephant Camp :
Dubare Elephant Camp, which is located near Madikeri, is a famous elephant training camp. The deciduous forests of Dubare are home to several species of wild animals and birds. Asiatic Elephants, sambhar and the spotted deer are among some of the animals that can be easily spotted.

4. Brahmagiri Peak :
Brahmagiri, is a mountain range in the Western Ghats of south India. It is situated on the border between Kodagu district in [Karnataka] state in the north and Wayanad district of Kerala state on the south. Brahmagiri Hill, at 1608 m height, is a scenic tourist attraction. The top of Brahmagiri Hill is well forested and has a lot of wildlife.

5. Irupu Falls :
A picturesque waterfalls cascading along the Brahmagiri Mountain Range, Iruppu falls is one of the most beautiful tourist attractions in the Coorg district of South Karnataka. These are also known as the Lakshmana Tirtha Falls, a name derived from the tributary of Cauvery River of the same name of which these falls are a part of. Nestled amidst the evergreen woods of the Western Ghats, Coorg boasts of many misty waterfalls.

6. Nagarhole National Park :
Nagarhole National Park, also known as Rajiv Gandhi National Park, is a wildlife reserve in the South Indian state of Karnataka. Part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, the park is backed by the Brahamagiri Mountains and filled with sandalwood and teak trees. The Kabini River winds through jungle landscapes, home to tigers, Asian elephants and a variety of birds.

7. Raja’s Seat :
Raja’s Seat is a seasonal garden of flowers and artificial fountains. It is one of the most important tourist spots in Madikeri of Coorg District. It is 270 km away from Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka. A pleasant spectacle of refreshing layers of greenery, chain of high and low-rise-mountains attired with mist, the RajaGarden was a one-time-favorite of the kings of Kodagu who used to watch the setting sun, and spend time with their queens here.

8. Nisargadhama :
Cauvery Nisargadhama is an island created by a cluster of islets formed by Cauvery River. Situated 30 km away from Madikeri, this island is a popular picnic spot that features lush foliage of bamboo groves, sandalwood and teak trees. Spread over an area of 2, 58,998 sq. m, this island also features deer park, rabbit park, peacock park and orchidarium.

9. Mandalpatti View point :
Mandalpatti, situated at an altitude of around 4050 feet, is a hilltop, 18 km from the town of Madikeri in Karnataka. A favorite destination for nature lovers, Mandalpatti View Point has the power to charm any tourist that visits the place and will beckon him or her to come back here again and again. This blessed region is a part of Pushpagiri reserve forest. It is famous for being a four-by-four Jeep drive spot to the top.

10. Sri Omkareshwara Temple :
Sri Omkareshwara Temple, in Madikeri, Coorg, was built in 1741 by the King Lingarajendra II, for exculpation against Brahma Hatya. Built in the Mughal style, this temple involves Indo Islamic and Gothic architecture. There are not many Shiva temples in India that share similar architectural style. Also, Shivalingas that go by the name of Omkareshwara, are also a rarity in India.
