This is the second part of Kerala’s best small scale restaurants. We have homely meals of Kerala that is served at Rs. 60.00 and at Rs. 50.00. We also have Kerala’s famous Kanji with fish fry. Then there’s puttu with mutton curry. Here is the next set of top 5 restaurants that sell wonderful delicacies to the public.

When speaking of small restaurants that serve tasty and authentic Kerala cuisine, there are so many that keep coming back to my mind. Some of them do not even qualify as proper restaurants. They are just attached to homes, and serve homely food to guests in the most humble and simple manner. So these are the next five, starting from Number 6:
6. Appu chettande Kada Changanassery: (1:28)
A small restaurant located on Changanassery- Alappuzha road, this shop serves tasty Kerala lunch complete with a fish fry and fish curry, just for Rs. 60. I went there with my friend, Shameer, and we both relished the food. We saw the cooking process in the small kitchen attached to the shop. It was a tasty combination of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. Watch the full video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfUCsINq4g0
7. Onakkan Bharathi, Kannur: (4:20)
Another unassuming yet wonderful shop where we get tasty Kerala snacks like puttu. First time I went there, Anas was with me. I tried puttu with mutton chaps and relished it totally. So when the famous food vlogger, Mark Wiens asked me for suggestions for a food trip, this shop was on my list. We went there again, and tasted same puttu mutton combination. Watch Onakkan Bharathi video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRkHW5tf4VQ
8. Paravathiammayude Kada, Palakkad: (5:29)
I would call this shop an abode of mother’s love, because this is what attracts us to the shop. The old lady, Parvathiamma who runs the shop, is full of love and smiles as she serves food to guests. Food is simple and tasty, and cooked over firewood stoves. This was a shop where my heart and tummy, both were content. Watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5GS0wZLbzU
9. Kumbalam Shibuettande Puttu kada and Vadakkeyataam puttu kada: (7:52)
Going back to the puttu tastes, there are two shops close to Kochi where we can enjoy puttu with a variety of dishes, even in the middle of night. During the early days of my food vlogging, I had visited Shibuettande puttu kada. It was a good experience. When I went for the second time, Pooja and her husband were with us. Both the shops serve tasty dishes with puttu. Pooja tried puttu with beef, and I chose my all-time favorite, mutton curry. Watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQbs-Ez0lx4
10. Sinan Kanjikkada, Perinthalmanna: (10:02)
This was a shop apt for common man. The food we get is kanji with many different curries, and the price they charge is most affordable to everyone. Just Rs. 30 for a bowl full of energizing kanji. If you are willing to pay a few extra bucks, you get additional fish fries too. Sinan Kanji Stall was another fulfilling food experience which I had. These were the top 10 in my list of best small restaurants of Kerala. Watch our next video for the last 5 in the series.
