20 Most Dangerous Tourist Attractions in the World

Everybody loves to visit new places. However there a number of locations around the world which will give you nightmares. You will forget your sleep after watching some uncanny attractions. Here are the top 20 dangerous tourist attractions in the world.
1. Mount Huashan
The Plank Walk on China’s Mount Hua is considered by many as one of the most dangerous hikes in the world. Hikers walk across a few planks of wood bolted into the side of a 7,000-foot peak to reach a small shrine. While the hikers are harnessed, it is still a terrifying adventure to many who dare. The amazing fact is, this dangerous tourist attraction is considered one of China’s five sacred mountains and is one of the most popular tourist attractions and pilgrimage sites for Chinese people.
2. Hiking Trolltunga
This dangerous tourist attraction is Norway’s most spectacular hiking destinations. But it is one of the most dangerous and hardest hiking destinations on earth. The estimated trekking time is 7–10 hours. Signs along the trail show the remaining distance to both Trolltunga and back to the trailhead. There are several options for traveling by bus, and every route takes you via the village of Odda in Hardanger. On this dangerous holiday spot, a 24-year-old Australian girl fell off the Troll’s Tongue and died.
3. Devile Pool – Victoria Falls
Devil’s Pool is located atop Victoria Falls, one of the largest waterfalls in the world. The pool has long been a top “must-explore” tourist destination on the travel bucket list of many adventure lovers. Devil’s Pool is located in the Zambezi River, along the Zambia-Zimbabwe border. Here, tourists swim dangerously close to the tipping point of the falls, only prevented from falling by a slippery, submerged lip of rock.
4. End Road
This most dangerous tourist destination in Bolivia is known as “End Road” for all of the reasons you’d guess. Driving up or down this 43-mile switchback is extremely perilous due to fog, landslides, cascades, and cliffs that drop 2,000 feet at every turn. The road hardly gets wider than 10 feet. Multiple crucifixes spot the ground as memorials to those who have perished there.
5. Trift Bridge
It is the only suspension bridge of the longest walkway in the Swiss Alps. Beside the long trek, the view here may also weaken some people’s knees. It is suspended 330 feet from the valley floor and 560 meters in length. This is only the second bridge located in the beautiful valley with its dazzling landscape. In 2004, a huge hydroelectric plant was built under Trift Glacier. The plant collected and controlled the runoff from the glacier. A bridge was needed to reach the power plant below the glacier and so this precariously positioned structure was built. However it is not considered as dangerous as the glass bridge in china.
6. Kokoda and Black cat Trails
This dangerous tourist destination is a challenging 58km Papua New Guinea Adventure that runs between Salamaua and Wau in the Morobe Province. It is a forgotten World War 2 trail that passes through some of the toughest and most hazardous terrains in the world. Australian Diggers have often been heard describing the Black Cat Track as the hardest slog they have ever done. In fact, the Black Cat Tracks are harder than the Kokoda Tracks.
1. The Elephant Kingdom in Chonburi
This tourist attraction is in Thailand. An elephant camp owner and a mahout were charged with recklessly causing end and injuries after an elephant terminated a Chinese tour guide and injured two tourists. This happened in the Elephant Kingdom in Chonburi, Thailand. Considered the world’s most terrifying tourist attraction, the attraction was shut down after disturbing photos emerged of tourists balanced on a raft feeding meat – to crocodiles. They used flimsy canes to dangle lumps of beef over the jaws of the reptiles – which then leaped from the water to take their lunch.
2. Heaven’s Gate
This holiday destination is located at the top of Tianmen Mountain, 24,500 feet above the city of Zhangjiajie in China’s Hunan province. The 999 steps lead visitors to Tianmen Cave, which is the world’s highest naturally formed arch. Visitors can get there using the cable car, or choose the harder way – the 999 steps. Land Rover alleges that the Range Rover Sport is the first SUV to reach Heaven’s Gate.
3. Grand Canyon National Park
This dangerous place has between 15 to 20 fatalities and 300 search and rescue incidents reported per year. The most common causes of end are airplane crashes, falls, and dangerous environmental conditions such as overheating or drowning. Grand Canyon is in the northwest corner of Arizona, close to the borders of Utah and Nevada. The Colorado River, which flows through the canyon, drains water from seven states, but the feature we know as Grand Canyon is entirely in Arizona.

TOP 10 DANGEROUS TOURIST PLACES IN THE WORLD
As soon as the world is back to normal, travelling will be one of my top priorities, and I’m sure I’m not
alone in this thought. But, finding the perfect vacation spot is a bit tricky and there are a lot of things to
consider, foremost among these is safety because let’s face it, not all tourist destinations are tourist
friendly. Number one is actually a tourist magnet, but is actually a very dangerous place to visit. Find out
where it is as we give you 10 of the most dangerous tourist places in the world.

Number 10. Honduras
Honduras‘ fascinating Maya ruins, sparkling beaches, and vibrant culture make it a beautiful travel
destination in Central America. But beneath the natural beauty of Honduras is a high crime rate. Most
criminal activity is of the petty theft variety, with pickpockets and purse snatching occurring quite
frequently against unsuspecting tourists.
In addition to high rates of petty crime in Honduras, there's also a growing concern about violent
incidents, such as kidnapping, rape, assault and murder. Armed robbery is a common problem, with
thieves targeting both pedestrians and tourist vehicles.
Murder is perhaps the biggest concern for foreigners. Between 2010 and 2015 Honduras had the highest
murder rate in the world. Areas that see higher incidents of foreigners being murdered include San
Pedro Sula and La Ceiba, with many incidents occurring shortly after the victims arrived. This may be due
to tips obtained from criminal sources that hang out at airport arrival areas. Because of this, visitors are
strongly advised not to discuss the details of their travel plans in public.

Number 9. Kenya
Compared to other African countries, Kenya is a relatively safe place for tourists. Kenya’s remarkable
savannahs, iconic wildlife, and snowy mountain peaks grace many a traveler’s bucket list, but the US
Department of State is currently advising against travel to the country.
First of all, there is a high risk of getting Malaria from this country. Which should be no problem if you
have yourself properly vaccinated before going on your trip. However, mosquitoes aren’t the only
insects you should be wary about. You also need to watch out for biting wasps and scorpions, both of
whom you wouldn’t want to get stung by. Trust me.
Crime is also prevalent there, especially in the big cities, particularly Nairobi. Eastleigh, in Nairobi's east
is considered a high- risk area due to the number of terror-related incidents that have occurred since
2012. Violent crimes have also been known to occur in Buruburu, Kasarani, Mathare, Pangan, South B
and South C. Violent crime in Nairobi is increasing in some suburbs with armed carjackings, kidnappings
and even home invasions.

Number 8. Acapulco, Mexico

Mexico was sure to make the list at some stage right? Although these days it's hard to judge whether
Acapulco or many Mexican cities for that matter can still be considered tourist destinations. Beautiful
beaches, a perfect climate and cuisine that's hard to beat doesn't outweigh being named the 3rd most
violent city in the world.
Acapulco used to be one of Mexico's most prosperous cities and is still one of the country’s most
popular tourist destinations but the high levels of crime mean that tourists and locals are under constant
threat of danger.
The narcotics industry naturally plays a huge role in the city's crime but the tourist population also plays
a big role in the narcotics trade. People do still travel to Acapulco and enjoy themselves, leaving with
positive memories – so not all is bad! Take care of yourself, don't make yourself and obvious target and
you're likely to get on fine.

Number 7. El Salvador
Basking in the Central American sun, catching smiles from locals, and riding world famous surf breaks –
it's hard to believe that El Salvador has one of the highest homicide rates in the world. Although gang
violence is rarely targeted at foreigners, extreme caution is a must to make sure you don't end up in the
line of fire.
It's no lie that crime is a problem in El Salvador, but most travelers get out of the country without
trouble. Around 4,000 murders a year occur on the streets of El Salvador, with gangs taking control of
many areas. The country's capital, San Salvador, is where most of the violent attacks take place, but
some areas are obviously more at risk than others. Needless to say, try to avoid walking at night in these
places, whether alone or in a group.

Most Dangerous Tourist Destinations In The World

The world is full of dangerous places, and it turns out that some people are crazy enough to go to them voluntarily. Coming up are some very dangerous tourist attractions.
