Bangkok Travel Guide 2021 – Best Places to Visit in Bangkok Thailand in 2021

Bangkok Travel Guide 2021 – Best Places to Visit in Bangkok Thailand in 2021

Bangkok, Thailand’s capital, is a large city known for ornate shrines and vibrant street life. The boat-filled Chao Phraya River feeds its network of canals, flowing past the Rattanakosin royal district, home to opulent Grand Palace and its sacred Wat Phra Kaew Temple. Nearby is Wat Pho Temple with an enormous reclining Buddha and, on the opposite shore, Wat Arun Temple with its steep steps and Khmer-style spire.

Thailand is a Southeast Asian country. It’s known for tropical beaches, opulent royal palaces, ancient ruins and ornate temples displaying figures of Buddha. In Bangkok, the capital, an ultramodern cityscape rises next to quiet canalside communities and the iconic temples of Wat Arun, Wat Pho and the Emerald Buddha Temple (Wat Phra Kaew). Nearby beach resorts include bustling Pattaya and fashionable Hua Hin.

Planning a trip to Bangkok? Learn about the top 10 places to visit and what makes them special in this travel video. Hint: Wat Pho is a must; it’s one of the biggest and oldest of Thailand’s temples, and it’s home to the massive Reclining Buddha.

Bangkok is the heart of Thailand, a modern city with a rich cultural heritage.

A visit would be incomplete without a seeing some of the wats, or Buddhist temples.

The best known is Wat Arun, decorated lavishly with mosaics of broken porcelain.

You should also visit the Grand Palace to see the Wat Phra Kaew, which houses the sacred Emerald Buddha.

Wat Pho is also a must — this is one of the biggest and oldest of Thailand’s temples, and it’s home to the massive Reclining Buddha.

Also see the Buddha at Wat Traimit–it’s the largest solid gold statue in the world.

Other temples worth visiting include the beautiful white marble Wat Benchamabophit; Wat Saket, with its gold chedi, which was once the highest point in the city; and Wat Suthat with it’s murals, statues, and giant swing.

But there’s more to Bangkok than temples.

For Thai architecture, visit Jim Thompson’s House, which is actually a complex of six houses from different parts of Thailand.

And make sure to see the Democracy Monument, built in memory of the military overthrowing Thailand’s absolute monarchy in nineteen-thirty-two. With its four wings rising twenty-four meters into the sky, you can’t miss it.

And when you need a break from the city, catch a breath of fresh air in Lumphini Park.

In the mornings, you may even be able to find locals practicing tai chi there.

Bangkok can be overwhelming, but it’s worth making sure you see as much as you can!

10 Top Tourist Attractions in Bangkok – Travel Video

Bangkok, with a population of over 9 million inhabitants, is one of the biggest cities in the world. Its heavy traffic congestion, intense heat and naughty nightlife do not immediately give visitors a warm welcome. But first impressions can be misleading. It is one of Asia’s most cosmopolitan cities with magnificent temples and palaces, extensive canals, a vibrant nightlife and great shopping, that has something for every traveler.

Due to the city’s congested traffic, the best transport options around Bangkok are the Skytrain, the metro and tuk-tuks. A memorable way to experience Bangkok is by a boat ride on the canals. Here’s a look at the top tourist attractions in Bangkok:
