Best Place to Visit in Rishikesh :-
1. Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula :- The Lakshman Jhula is a famous hanging bridge across the river Ganga that connects two villages, Tapovan in the Tehri Garhwal district and Jonk in the Pauri Garhwal district. The 450 feet long iron suspended bridges – Laxman and Ram Jhula – are the glory of this beautiful tourist hub. The bridges are 4 km from the Rishikesh railway station. One can also visit famous Trayambakeshwar temple, Ram temple, and Laxman temple, situated in the vicinity.
2. Shivpuri for River rafting :- This “Abode of Lord Shiva”, so pristine, serene and filled with adventure, is a mecca for river rafting in India. Located 20kms from Rishikesh on the banks of River Ganga, the tranquil town of Shivpuri beams with life, laughter, adventure and nature’s bountiful thrills.
3. Kaudiyala/Bharmapuri:- At 380 m high, Kaudiyala is a popular rock climbing destination surrounded by dense forests. It also offers white river rafting tracks, and the sports is organized by the camping facilities around the place. . Kaudiyala is also one of the best white water rafting zones in the world.
4. Triveni Ghat :- Situated on the banks of the holy Ganges, Triveni Ghat is among the most magnetic places to visit in Rishikesh. The confluence point of three of the most sacred rivers in Hindu mythology: Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswathi, this ghat is considered as the most pious among all the other ghats within the vicinity.
According to the legends, the water of this ghat has the magical power of purifying one’s heart and soul and make it free from all the sins.
5. Neelkanth Mahadev Temple :- It is dedicated to Shiva as Neelkanth is his another name. This temple is located around 7km from Swarg Ashram and the route is a 3 hour long walk along a forest path. The inside tomb depicting the saga of Samudramanthan is one of the key attractions here. The temple also has a freshwater spring which attracts many devotees for a bath.
6. Jumpin Heights for Bungee Jumping :- Jumpin Heights : The place to be for adventure enthusiasts, Jumpin Heights is located at Mohan Chatti, about 15 kilometres away from Lakshman Jhoola in Rishikesh. This extremely popular amusement park promises a fun-filled time with activities such as bungee jump, giant canyon swings and Asia’s longest flying fox ride, measuring 1 kilometre.
7. Swarg Ashram :- Nestled between Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula, lies this oldest ashram of India called as Swarg Ashram which is one of the points of interest in Rishikesh. Built in the remembrance of Swami Vishudhanand, this place is an ideal sojourn. Located at an isolated river bank, it is a perfect mediation site as well. One can simply watch the sunset and enjoy the natural beauty of this place.
8.
