Best Place To Visit In Leh-Lahdakh :-

1. Pangong lake :- The famous and sparkling blue Pangong lake is situated near Leh-Ladakh in the Himalayas, approximately at the height of 4350 meters. This endorheic lake is 12 kilometres long and extends from India to Tibet, with two-thirds of it lying in the latter. A unique feature of the lake is that it does not remain blue throughout the year or even the day, rather it changes colours from azure to light blue to green and grey too!

2. Santi stupa :- Shanti Stupa is one of the magnificent Tibetan structures that has ever been built. The architecture and the beauty of this place are unexplainable. Shanti Stupa is a white-dome structure dedicated to Buddhism. This brilliant structure stands atop a steep hilltop at a dizzying height of 11,841 feet above sea level. This dominating altitude of the Stupa allows it to offer picturesque views of its beautiful surroundings.
3. NubreVelly :- Nubra valley is a dash of lush greenery in Ladakh's dessert and moonlike landscapes and slopes, being almost 3000m lower than Leh. Snuggled between the Karakoram Range and nourished by two rivers.To travel to this place, tourists require an Inner Line Permit, that they can obtain in Leh.

4. LehPalce :-
Leh Palace also referred as the ‘LhachenPalkhar’ is a yesteryear royal palace located in the picturesque Ladakhi Himalayan town of Leh in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, India. Designed in line with the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet, the construction of the Leh Palace began in the sixteenth century and it was completed in the 17th century, marking it as one of the tallest buildings of that era with nine storeys.

5. Khardungla Pass :- Situated at an altitude of 18,379 ft. above the sea level, Khardung La makes one feel on the top of the world. It was once believed to be the highest motorable pass in the world. Khardung Pass (as ‘La’ implies ‘pass’ in Tibetan Language) is the gateway to the remote Nubra and Shyok valleys. Take Diamox for overcoming acute mountain sickness. But, do consult a doctor first.

6. Thiksey Monestry :- Thiksey Monastery, located at an altitude of almost 3,600m in the Thiksey village. It’s one of the largest and most famous monasteries in Ladakh.
Visiting the Thiksey Monastery will leave you with wonderful memories. Apart from the opportunities for exploration and sightseeing, the Thiksey Monastery is a great place for learning about the several facets of Buddhism.

7. Magnetic hill :- Magnetic Hill in Ladakh, the place where gravity takes a backseat. Lying at a distance of around 30km from the town of Leh, the Magnetic Hill is marked by a yellow signboard which reads “The Phenomenon That Defies Gravity”. It also instructs you to park your vehicles in the box marked with a white point on the road, which is known as the Magnetic Road. When parked at the indicated spot, vehicles begin moving forward at a speed of almost 20km/h.

8. Kargil war memorial :- The Kargil War Memorial, also known as the Drass war memorial or the Vijaypath, is a popular war memorial that has been erected by the Indian Army. Located between Dras and Kargil region in Jammu & Kashmir, the memorial has been built in the memory of the martyrs of the 1999 Kargil war that was fought between India and Pakistan.The memorial is located in the foothills of Tololing Hill and is located at a distance of about 5 km from the famous Tiger Hill.

9. Hall of Fame :- It is a museum constructed by the Indian Army in memory of the brave Indian soldiers who laid down their lives defending the motherland in the Indo-Pak wars. The Hall of Fame museum is located on the Leh-Kargil Road, about 4km from the city of Leh.

Visiting time:- Remains open from 9 A.M to 1 P.M. and from 2 P.M. to 7 P.M.

10. Diskit monestary :- Diskit Monastery, also known as Deskit monastery is not only the oldest but also the largest Buddhist Gompa in the Nubra Valley, Ladakh. The prayer hall of the monastery consists of a statue of Maitreya Buddha, various images of other guardian gods as well as huge drum. Every year this monastery plays host to the popular Dosmoche festival, held during the month of February, which is a famous tourist attraction.
