1. Swayambhu Ganapati Temple: This 400 years old Ganapati temple is built of pure white sand. It is close to the beach and has a beautiful view. This Temple is very popular among the Hindus.

2. Ganpatipule beach: At Ganpatipule, you can soak in hours of sun and sea-spray, watch time drift by, marvel at sunsets, wonder at sunrises, drink in the moonlight & dance on the moonbeams.

3. Ratnadurg Fort: The Maratha leader Shivaji Maharaj conquered the fort in the year 1670 from the Bijapur ruler Adil Shah. Ratnadurg Fort is one of the major attraction in Ratnagiri.

4. Jaigad fort: Around 20 km away from Ganpatipule, this is a great place to visit especially in the evening. The best time to visit is in the evening after 4:30 pm.

5. Bhatye Beach: Bhatye beach is a long, nice and not so crowded beach. This beach water is clean. The best part of this beach is to see the sun setting in the Arabian sea. Sand is brownish but clean.

6. Tilak Ali Museum: It is the old ancestral home of the illustrious Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak. It is a very great effort put by State Archaeological Department to preserve memoirs of the freedom fighter.

7. Atulit Bal Dham: This Dham is managed by Sadguru Shree Aniruddha Upasana Trust. Panchamukhi Hanuman is the deity in this Dham. Devotees believe they get spiritual, mental and physical power after visiting this Dham.

8. Gateway of Ratnagiri: Gateway of Ratnagiri is an outrageous structure with a sloped roof, built on the jetty of Mandvi beach. it is quite an attractive structure.

9. Marleshwar temple: This Lord Shiva’s temple is in a cave and is circumvented with sacred grooves. Near the temple, Dhareshwar waterfall can be seen.

10. Thibaw Point: Thibaw point Offers panoramic view giving ample opportunities to click spectacular selfies of you with your and family. It gives you a very good view of the river meets the sea.

Planning a trip to Bangkok? Learn about the top 10 places to visit and what makes them special in this travel video. Hint: Wat Pho is a must; it’s one of the biggest and oldest of Thailand’s temples, and it’s home to the massive Reclining Buddha.

Bangkok is the heart of Thailand, a modern city with a rich cultural heritage.

A visit would be incomplete without a seeing some of the wats, or Buddhist temples.

The best known is Wat Arun, decorated lavishly with mosaics of broken porcelain.

You should also visit the Grand Palace to see the Wat Phra Kaew, which houses the sacred Emerald Buddha.

Wat Pho is also a must — this is one of the biggest and oldest of Thailand’s temples, and it’s home to the massive Reclining Buddha.

Also see the Buddha at Wat Traimit–it’s the largest solid gold statue in the world.

Other temples worth visiting include the beautiful white marble Wat Benchamabophit; Wat Saket, with its gold chedi, which was once the highest point in the city; and Wat Suthat with it’s murals, statues, and giant swing.

But there’s more to Bangkok than temples.

For Thai architecture, visit Jim Thompson’s House, which is actually a complex of six houses from different parts of Thailand.

And make sure to see the Democracy Monument, built in memory of the military overthrowing Thailand’s absolute monarchy in nineteen-thirty-two. With its four wings rising twenty-four meters into the sky, you can’t miss it.

And when you need a break from the city, catch a breath of fresh air in Lumphini Park.

In the mornings, you may even be able to find locals practicing tai chi there.

Bangkok can be overwhelming, but it’s worth making sure you see as much as you can!
